Baptism

Baptism is not only water, but water used together with God’s Word and by His command. In Baptism God forgives sin, delivers from death and the devil and gives everlasting salvation to all who believe what He has promised.

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved.” Mark 16:16

We are excited to partner with you in your faith journey, whether you wish to be baptized or have a child baptized.

Attending a Baptism Seminar is required before baptism at Our Saviour’s.

If you would like us to contact you when the date has been set for the next seminar please contact Ann Traeder at 651.437.9052 or send an email.

First Communion

Holy Communion is the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ given with bread and wine, instituted by Christ himself for us to eat and drink.

“Do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19

Our First Communion seminar gives participants an overview of Communion, its significance, and deep meaning. Our fifth graders and a parent are asked to attend. The invitation is open to anyone who has not yet experienced a First Communion. Students make their own ceramic cups and bread to be used at the First Communion Service. The seminar will be scheduled toward the beginning of the new year. Contact Amy Hanson at 651.437.9052 or send an email.

Confirmation

Confirmation is a public rite of the Church preceded by a period of instruction designed to help baptized Christians identify with the life and mission of the Christian community.

“And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:20

The God + Life program at Our Saviour’s strives to connect youth with the active and living God in their lives. The program is open to all youth grades 7-9. God + Life meets Wednesday evenings during the school year.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is “being confirmed”?

Confirmation can really be described as ‘affirmation’. The act of being confirmed is really about an individual reiterating his/her beliefs in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This does not mean there are no questions, doubts, or even hesitations. It simply means he/she has faith in believing in the midst of those times. Confirmation services take place at Our Saviour’s in the Fall.

What do I need to do to be confirmed?

Youth who commit to building positive faith habits for a minimum of 85 hours over the 3 year period, attend and participate in God+Life regularly, and feel the value in affirming their faith in front of their family, friends, and the congregation, will have an opportunity to do so during a special Confirmation Service held in the Fall of his/her 10th grade year.

Marriage

In accordance with the Scriptures, we believe marriage is a holy estate, ordained by God, and to be held in honor by all.

“Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Mark 10:9

Inquiries to schedule a wedding at Our Saviour’s can be made by contacting Ann Traeder or 651.437.9052. Once a date has been secured, one of our wedding coordinators will guide you through the process of having your wedding at Our Saviour’s.

Funeral and Memorial Services

Our Saviour’s surrounds the bereaved with the hope and comfort of God’s eternal love by creating meaningful funerals and memorials for grieving friends and family. We work with your funeral home or cremation service provider.

“For I am sure that neither death nor life nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
