Synod Assembly Mission Fair, Hymn Sing, and Worship – All are welcome!
The Saint Paul Area Synod invites all people from its 107 congregations to join them at a special worship service on Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi on the eve of its synod assembly. The annual Synod Assembly is this coming weekend and the format is a little bit different from past years. Friday night is a mission fair and hymn sing and worship service. Anyone can go. You do not have to register; you just show up and participate. Then Saturday is for registered clergy and voting delegates.
Friday Schedule
5-7 p.m. – Mission Fair. Visit 20+ displays of affiliate organizations!
All are invited to visit a mission fair, beginning at 5 p.m. The fair features more than 20 display tables from synod work groups, global mission committees, ELCA affiliate organizations, and more. These partners would love to share information about their ministry and programs with you!
7 p.m. – Hymn Sing and Synod-Wide Worship Service. Our festive worship of Holy Communion features preaching by Bishop Lull, music from the synod assembly choir under the direction of Karen Wilkerson and Tom Bartsch (St. Michael’s, Roseville), and brass.
A brief reception with refreshments and fellowship will follow with goodies sponsored by the synod’s Guatemala Committee
