Last year the women of OSEL held an advent dinner, and spring brunch to raise funds for our youth. We had a wonderful time with great food prepared by Chef Johnny and served by the youth. It was so much fun! At that time, many men expressed interest to be able to have an event with a meal, program, and fellowship. And it’s going to happen on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 4:30 PM!!!!
We want to strongly encourage all of you to come and bring your sons and grandsons with you. Again, we will give any extra money to the youth of our church.
The women were successful to raise funds to help defray the cost of mission trips and Bible Camp. Many were able to attend because of our donations. At our event we will be remembering Pastor Bill Strom, and his many contributions, especially in regards to our music program, and Leigh Nelson, who was so enthusiastic about having a strong youth program.
We know for the church to survive, we need to engage, welcome, and teach our youth. Last week I had the opportunity to teach our younger children at Vacation Bible School. It really hit home to me that our children are our future. Let us do all we can do to support them and our church’s ministries.
We scheduled our dinner for late afternoon and early evening on a Sunday. I checked the MN Gopher schedules, the Viking schedule, and deer hunting season, and this date and time is all in the clear—so you will have no excuses! Plus, the date and time shouldn’t interfere with attending your children and grandchildren’s sporting events.
We will be taking reservations after services on the 10th, 17th, and 24th of September. There will be a fabulous Fall meal, entertainment by me, vocal treat, favors and door prizes, and it’s for “Men of all Ages” of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. You won’t want to miss this!
